What went well about our pitch is that we were able to
explain and use key terms in order to explain our idea thoroughly. We had
already known what we needed to do for our story line and already possessed some
basic ideas which could become more complex on how we wanted everything and
prepared our PowerPoint to make sure it was well presented and it was eye
catching and it presented what we was going to do in our film and the props and
equipment’s we will use in our film and we had expanded on that and explained
it to our audience why we needed each prop and equipment. Even though at points
we did improvise, we used the notes and bullet points to be able to come up
with a clear plan for our short movie.
In our pitch, we explained what our story line was in a very
concise way, we chose just to explain the beginning, middle and end as there
were some grey areas as to what would happen in between these scenes, We then
went on to explain our choice of characters/cast, props, costumes and location
and as always giving reasoning for why we chose the specific locations or why
the cast was chosen in a particular way.
For our pitch, we also had to explain whether our characters
were stereotypical or not and if so why. The only stereotypical character was
the little school girl because we had explained how vulnerable little school
students can be and how they like to go out sometimes and just have fun. We had
also explained the moral behind our film and we had a message to pass through
our film and allow someone people to relate to our film as we all may have a
little sibling at that age or similar to that age so they are aware of what
could happen to students nowadays.
In order to improve our pitch, we got feedback from our
peers and the feedback which we took on in order to improve our pitch was as an
individual, I needed to ensure that we were ‘Pitch Perfect’ in the sense that I
needed to get my head down and focus in order to ensure that all that we did beforehand
ensured that we were all ready to pitch our ideas as there was occasions where I
myself was complacent. Furthermore, We should have rehearsed beforehand and
made sure that everything was covered in our PowerPoint slide to decrease the
chance of grey areas to our peers and also the level of anxiety beforehand
which led me to say ‘erm’ or be less confident.
To improve when we was asked questions, we all should have
been on the same boat in the sense that we should have all known what to do and
how to respond when questions were answered rather than one person or two (Me
and Christiana) answered all the questions whilst Yazmin stood there and also,
ensured that we were on the same boat in the sense that we have a concrete idea
of our story line and what happens.
To improve our pitch we should have explained our plot in
more depth, this would have occurred if we clearly discussed the story line
beforehand and had a clear idea of how each character would be like in our
play, the costumes, how they would act and generally had a clear idea of
everything.
Overall our pitch was very good as we left small gaps for
feedback however as with everything there were still areas required for
improvement. There were good explanations and well throughout concepts however
it needed to be further discussed in order to conclude ideas an organise
everything needed to make these ideas possible.
